IMAGINE ~ Norse Mythology

I've decided to add a little section on my latest kicks. It's over on the side. A 'kick' to me is just whatever I'm currently obsessed with - person, place, thing, whatever. It's a little insight into me. ^_^ I'm thinking about writing, getting lots of good ideas, but not actually writing. Problem, that.

Spent the day in Madison at a Sweet Adelines workshop. My quartet took the quartet track. We learned all about how to be a better quartet, including at the end getting our first official coaching session. I'm happy about it because the coach could correct one of the mistakes a member was making, that I'd noticed before but couldn't say anything about. Awkward, impolite. Voice of authority is nice for that. Hmm. I really must update this thing more often. Thanks for stopping by.

IMAGINE ~ Runes

Kata said I must post so I am posting. I entered a little fantasy short story of mine into a competition. And won! WooHoo! I am now a soon-to-be-published author in the magazine listed above. Okay, I'm all sleepy from the daylong adreneline rush, and I have a big weekend - need my beauty sleep. G'Night.

IMAGINE ~ Brother

Just went to see one of my favorite groups, yes another concert. This one was much smaller scale at the lovely Shank Hall in beautiful downtown Cleveland (If you've every seen Spinal Tap you'll get it). They've changed up their style a teensy bit, more edgy, more funky, but still very cool. Check the website - they're cute, too. ^_^ And Hamish gave me a hug! Yes, I'm a pathetic old maid who enjoys physical contact with handsome, sweaty guys whenever the opportunity should present itself.

Hmmm, perhaps I've said too much. Ah, but it's late. I should mention that I'm working on my next story, one not dictated by the rules and strictures of any contest, so we'll see if I actually get anywhere with it. Wish me luck. G'night.

IMAGINE ~ Red Hot Chili Peppers

Ah, that delightful ringing sound that lingers so sweetly in the ear drums. I expect it may fade away completely sometime over the next day or two, but until then it serves as a potent reminder during quiet moments of the hellacious good time I had on Friday night - seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers live in concert. ^_^ Anything else I might have to say just now seems to pale in comparison, mainly because my life is usually boring. So until something else of interest occurs to me or occurs to me, Good Night.

IMAGINE ~ Alien Skin

Okay, I'm trying to remember to post entries more often. It's just that whole evenings go by when I'm not on-line. I did manage to finish my contest story. So I have a few days yet to tweak it before submitting. Personally, I think it's great. I just hope other people, contest judging people, agree with me. I'll let you know how it does.

Beyond that, I should've been at Kata's but instead I'm home. Theoretically this means I can accomplish things. If nothing else I finished the story. But I also intend to hike, shop, clean, see a movie, watch the anime I rented, go to church, paint pots, and do laundry. Hmm, what to do first... I think I'll go to a movie. Or anime. Or hiking. Decisions, decisions. Bye.

IMAGINE ~ Up in Smoke

The link above is mainly for the benefit of Kata, who is loving the Trigun I loaned her, but others who bother to read this may enjoy it too.

Um, let's see. Competition weekend with my Sweet Adelines Chorus... We finished fourth out of sixteen choruses, not too bad but we could have done better. The fantasy story has stalled out but maybe when I finish this I'll re-read what I did before and try to get inspired again. I DID have a flash of inspiration on what 'bakery' items I could provide for an upcoming craft/fair thingie. I was thinking chocolate-covered things, like pretzels and those ritz peanutbutter sandwich things.

That's all the inspiration I got. Just saw BulletProof Monk. I like it much better than DareDevil, but then I thought DareDevil was pretty lame. G'night.

IMAGINE ~ Starry Nights

I wrote a bit, stalled just a little. This story comes in bursts and I don't like to write until I know for certain what ought to be written. But it's coming along. Lot's of time yet.

This weekend I'll be off singing and swimming (hopefully) and general goofing off while trying to be very serious about barbershop music. You should see me in my false eyelashes. ^_^

IMAGINE ~ Learning Kanji

I do pretty well as high as level 7, but considering there are 60+ levels that's not so good.

First off I had a flood of inspiration on Monday night and wrote the first third of a fantasy story I need to finish by the end of the month, to enter in a contest and maybe be published. Optimistic Pessimism aka Pessimistic Optimism rules the day. I have to finish first, but I think another wave of inspiration may strike tonight. Either I'll write like a maniac. Or I'll paint more pots. But what's really cool about this story is... They always say 'Write what you know' but I never thought what I know would be in any way useful. But in this story, it is.

IMAGINE ~ Foley Poetry Contest

Kata gave me the link above. I don't think I have anything suitable. I don't know if I'm cabable of writing something suitable before the deadline. But if anybody sees a poetry contest with a deadline at least one month in the future, send it my way. I have to concentrate on my short story. Title options all involve the word 'Wild', but I haven't picked one yet. Really the title ought to be the least of my worries, but I'm obsessed with naming things.

Also in the works, making clay pot crafts for a craft show coming up. I just finished my first wind-chime. It's SOOO cute, I kinda want to keep it. Of course I've got nowhere to put it so the urge to keep is going right out the window, so to speak.

IMAGINE ~ Scribblers Anon

New design. New attitude. Hopefully.

It is awfully pretty though, isn't it? Retorical question, you don't have to answer that. This ought to be somewhat like Kata's recreation of her blog - a place where I can write about what I'm writing about. ^_^

Today I spent my lunch hour outlining what may be the future winning entry, unpublished authors catagory, for the contest sponsored by A Fantasy Writer's Dream, a chatty little group I just joined. Positive attitude is important, and I really like what I've come up with so far. If I can write it the way it should be written, it'll be like an episode of the Twilight Zone, and involve some childhood imaginings of mine that I never quite forgot.

Wish me luck!
